Privacy policy

A plain-English summary of what we collect and why. layovr is in preview, and this page will be reviewed by a professional before full launch.
When you order
We ask for your name, phone number and email, plus a delivery note if you want delivery. We keep these with your order so the vendor can get it to you and either of us can reach you about it.
Who sees your order
The vendor you order from sees your name, phone number, delivery note and what you ordered. The layovr team can see orders to keep things running and sort out problems. We don't sell your information.
Messages and sign-in
If you send us a message through the Contact, Help or Partners forms, we keep what you wrote with your full name, email and phone so we can reply. If you sign in, we keep your email address, name and phone. Vendors and event organisers give the same three details when they sign up or suggest an event.
Events
On event pages we count visits, searches and taps anonymously (a random tag kept only for your browsing session, no names). If you fill in event feedback, we keep your answers with your full name, email and phone, so we can follow up if something needs fixing. Only the layovr team sees them.
Captain
Captain, our assistant, is a demo for now: her products, prices and stock are made up and her orders are pretend. We don't store your conversations. We count how she's used anonymously (a random tag for your browsing session, the kind of question, and the words of searches that found nothing). Your chat stays in your browser tab and disappears when you close it.
Private preview
If you join the preview with a code, we keep your full name, email, phone, how you know us, whether you chose to board with or without AI, the pages you visit and for how long, your device and browser type, and your city (from your connection, never your exact location). If you board with AI, an AI assistant (not a person) uses what you type, your basket and the page you're on to help, and right now it runs on test responses. If you board without AI, nothing you type is sent to an AI. You can switch any time in settings, and delete everything about you from the feedback page. We keep preview data until the preview ends, at most 6 months.
Searches
When a search finds nothing, we keep the words you searched for (nothing else, so it isn't linked to you). It tells us what people want that isn't on layovr yet.
Location and camera
If you tap to see who's open near you, your browser asks before sharing your location. We use it once to find the spot you're in and don't store it. You can always search instead. We never use your camera.
Payments
Right now you pay the vendor when your order arrives. We don't take card details on this site.
On your device
Your basket, your boarding passes, your recent searches and the last spot you visited are saved in your browser so they're there when you come back. You can clear them any time in your browser settings.
Where it's kept
Orders, messages and accounts are stored with our database provider, Supabase, on servers in Ireland. The site itself runs on Cloudflare.
